What’s with the orange? You can’t help but notice that the exposed I-beams in the ArtsQuest Center are painted “International Orange.” Why? The structural steel supporting the Golden Gate Bridge was poured from the blast furnaces that you see from the ArtsQuest Center, formed in the local plant and then shipped across the country to San Francisco. Bethlehem Steel was also one of the largest ship and bridge builders in the country.
